The 9/11 Report: The National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States

With Reporting and Analysis by the New York Times

What happened on 9/11 and how? Are we safer now? Have we learned any lessons? These are the questions on the mind of every American since that terrible day.

And on July 26th we may have some answers. On that day, The National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States (also known as the 9/11 Commission) will issue their complete report of the circumstances surrounding 9/11. THE 9/11 REPORT will cover many topics including:

*Al Qaeda and the organization of the 9/11 attack
*Intelligence collection, analysis, and management (including oversight and resource allocation)
*International counterterrorism policy, including states that harbor or harbored terrorists, or offer or offered terrorists safe havens
*Terrorist financing
*Border security and foreign visitors
*Law enforcement and intelligence collection inside the United States
*Commercial aviation and transportation security, including an investigation into the four hijackings
*The immediate response to the attacks at the national, state, and local levels, with personal interviews of Presidents Clinton and Bush on their roles

In addition, THE 9/11 REPORT will make recommendations as to how to prevent such attacks in the future. Certain to create controversy, this report will be much discussed, politicized, debated and possibly denied. But no matter what it says, THE 9/11 REPORT will be a book that goes down in history.
